TERRACE, B.C. – A Terrace hotel has received national recognition for its dedication to service, with Choice Hotels Canada announcing that the Comfort Inn & Suites Terrace is the winner of the Highest Guest Satisfaction award among 350 hotels across the country.

The award recognizes the hotel that achieves the highest Likelihood to Recommend (LTR) score in the Choice Hotels guest insight surveys over the last year.

Co-operator Sharon Cho, who runs the hotel with her husband Andrew, reflected on the significant achievement, especially given the timing of the hotel’s launch. The brand-new property opened shortly before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2018, creating immediate operational hurdles.

“Although we faced challenges in our early days, we have been able to maintain a strong and consistent level of excellence,” said Cho. “It would not be possible without our exceptional leadership team and staff, who work tirelessly to ensure our guests have the best possible experience.”

    A Record of Excellence

This is the fourth APEX Award—Choice Hotels Canada’s national awards recognizing top performance and operational excellence—for the Terrace hotel since it opened. Its previous accolades include being named Canadian Hotel of the Year in 2023 and receiving its first APEX award in 2022.

The Comfort Inn & Suites Terrace has also consistently earned four Platinum Guest Satisfaction Awards, a designation reserved for properties that rank within the top three per cent of all Choice Hotels properties for guest satisfaction.

Brian Leon, CEO of Choice Hotels Canada, praised the operators’ enduring commitment to service. “The hotel’s continued ability to win top awards year after year should not be understated, especially in the area of guest satisfaction,” Leon said. “Congratulations to Sharon and her team — they are consummate hospitality professionals who continually raise the bar.”
