    Your Guide to Seafest 2025: A Weekend of Parades, Derbies, and Family Fun in Prince Rupert

    PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – Prince Rupert is set to come alive this weekend as the 47th annual Seafest celebration takes over the city from Friday, June 13, to Sunday, June 15. Organized by the Prince Rupert Special Events Society, the weekend is packed with activities for all ages.

    Here’s a look at some of the highlights:

    Friday, June 13 The festivities kick off with the Seniors Tea from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Prince Rupert Curling Club, featuring prizes, entertainment, and refreshments.

    Saturday, June 14 The day starts early with a Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Safeway Parking Lot. The main event, the 47th Annual Seafest Parade, begins at 11 a.m., travelling from 7th street to 1st Ave.

    Other Saturday highlights include:

    • Show and Shine car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Soap Box Derby on 1st Ave at 1 p.m.
    • Car Smash fundraiser in the Chances parking lot.
    • Bouncy Castle and various other activities throughout the day.
    • Wheelhouse Brewing Charity Barbecue from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    Sunday, June 15 The fun continues, with a special focus on Cow Bay, hosted by the Prince Rupert Port Authority. The area will be pedestrian-only for the celebration.

    • Bullhead Derby for kids 3-12 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Port Edward Harbour Authority.
    • Stationary Marine Vessel Tours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the breakwater.
    • Free Kids’ Activities in the Atlin Terminal parking lot from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., including a bouncy castle, giant games, and face painting.
    • Beer Gardens & Live Music from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

    Please note that the Atlin Terminal parking lot will be closed from 6 p.m. Saturday until 6 p.m. Sunday to accommodate the festivities.

    Throughout the weekend, residents can also participate in a city-wide Trail Bingo, a Men’s Soccer Tournament, and a Rugby Tournament. The full schedule of events is available on the Prince Rupert Special Events website.
