TERRACE, B.C. – After a busy first few months of connecting with communities from Kitimat to the Hazeltons, the new MLA for the Skeena riding is set to officially open her constituency office in Terrace tomorrow, July 8.
The grand opening, scheduled from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 104-4710 Lazelle Avenue, marks the establishment of a permanent local headquarters for residents to seek assistance with provincial matters. In a post inviting the public, the new MLA emphasized that her goal is to be accessible to the community she represents.
Since the election, she has maintained a very active presence across the vast riding. Her public updates show her participating in Canada Day celebrations in Kitimat alongside the mayor, and joining the National Indigenous Peoples Day event in Terrace hosted by the Kermode Friendship Society. In a post from that day, she thanked the society for their work and congratulated the newly re-elected Chief of the Kitselas Nation, adding that she looks forward to continuing their strong collaborative relationship.
Her work has also involved traveling as part of the provincial Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services, holding public consultations for the next provincial budget.
On her social media, she has been a vocal commentator on major regional and provincial issues. She recently celebrated the departure of the first LNG Canada cargo from Kitimat, calling it a “monumental step” for the country and a “proud milestone for British Columbia.” She has also weighed in on the provincial healthcare debate, advocating for safe workplaces for healthcare workers.
In a recent personal post, she also shared the happy news of her engagement, thanking the community for their support over the years.
The grand opening of her Terrace office tomorrow provides the first official opportunity for constituents to meet the new MLA and her team in their new permanent space, and to learn more about the services her office provides.
